Heather Mitchell

General Manager

Heather Mitchell is the General Manager of Husk Restaurant in Savannah, GA. As an industry veteran with over 15 years of experience in high volume, casual, and fine dining restaurants, Mitchell brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the restaurant. An Ohio native who studied Health & Nutrition at the University of Cincinnati, Mitchell has dedicated her career to learning and understanding people, food, and the relationship between the two.

With an unquenchable appetite for knowledge of the hospitality industry, combined with her ambitious nature, Mitchell honed her restaurant business acumen at some of the top destinations on the East Coast, including New York City, Boston, and Providence. Over the course of her career, Mitchell has had the opportunity to work at many prestigious restaurants, most notably as the General Manager for Mill’s Tavern, and as the opening General Manager at Tiger Mama, a Boston restaurant helmed by James Beard Award-nominated chef Tiffani Faison. She relocated to Savannah in October 2017 to serve as Husk’s Assistant General Manager and was promoted to General Manager just seven months later.

Utilizing her passion for food, wine, and service, along with her experience opening restaurants and ability to perform in fast-paced environments, Mitchell has played a critical role in establishing Husk’s presence in the Savannah community. With a healthy dose of wanderlust and a keen interest in all things people, Mitchell has traveled the world, which contributes to her overall appreciation for culture, food, and storytelling–which are in no short supply on Husk’s menus. Mitchell has a passion for wine, boasting two Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence for lists she curated in the past.  She also played a significant role in crafting the wine program at Husk, hand-selecting each of the more than 70 bottles on the restaurant’s ever-evolving wine list.  Additionally, Mitchell recently became involved with the Court of Masters Sommeliers, obtaining her Level 1 Certification, and has plans of advancement within the Court.

When she’s not helping her team or her guests, Mitchell enjoys traveling to new destinations or exploring Savannah’s burgeoning culinary scene with her fiancĂ©, Jason, and her dog, Kirby.
